Government Affairs in Action
Image description: ?

We work to better our community, the university, and make a positive impact on the State of Ohio.

Through the Morrill Act of 1862, the state of Ohio received grants in the form of federal lands. The state used the proceeds from selling those federal lands to establish a public institution, fulfilling the act's provisions and eventually becoming Ohio State University. Our staff works with officials at the local, state, and federal level to advocate for legislation related to higher education, strong support for university research, and maintain strong relationships with our government partners. This page provides information on how you can engage with local, state, and federal officials through our team and access available resources.

Engage with Government

We engage with public officials on policies that affect the university as well as track legislation on a wide variety of issues including student aid; government-funded research; academic medicine; and technology and innovation. Additionally, we are a resource and foster partnerships between government, community leaders and the university.
